David Axe recently posted that the military is considering buying more F-15s, instead of the extremely expensive F-22 and F-35. This will allow us to buy far more, at far less cost, and still maintain our edge (as this plane is still top of the line compared to everyone else.)
I like this idea. A LOT. I've been wondering why we haven't done this already. If our old F-15s are falling apart, but the new planes are falling apart...it seems like the only logical thing to do.
Anyone have any other ideas?

I would invest in X-wings.
That, or Y-Wings. But I agree, X-Wings have superior proton torpedo capability.
But the F-22s are so gangster!

Haven't seen much defense acquisition projects, have you? There's no glory in building old tech that was proven in the 1980s. We need new, exciting technologies that will employ thousands of Americans and ensure that future air battles are so lopsided, one F22 can take out an enemy squadron of old tech planes.
Having said that, I heartedly agree with you. But it's just another day in the defense world.
